Divine Deliverance- Supreme GPS

Week Five, Day One

April 1, 2019

In Week Five of our Lent devotionals, we will learn more about the divine nature of our savior.

In John 14:6, Jesus points us home in a way that we cannot deny, saying "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." In this verse there is a reality that maps out the course of how and why we should follow Him. He has shown us His grace and has been incredibly personal with us; yet, in this statement we see Divinity and strength reminding us that He is our Father, our wisdom, our lifeline. He is our great and mighty guide.

After Jesus tells His disciple Philip that He is the way, the truth, the life, He goes on to say that anyone who has seen Him has also seen the Father.

In John 14:11, Jesus said, "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at

least believe on the evidence of the works themselves."

This. Is. Powerful. Not only is Jesus the way to the Father... this confirms to the wayward traveler that you have already arrived at the destination. You can stop looking around for directions. The supreme GPS has already delivered you to your destination.

Lucky for us, our generation is at a point with technology that we rarely need to ask for directions. Can you imagine, however, if you didn't have this feature? Driving with your knee while you look at a map. If we keep it real, some of us don't even know how to read a map. Yet, how often do we argue with our GPS? How often do we lack trust in the directions we are being given?

There have been times when I'm sure that I know a better way, and I end up delaying my trip by an hour, and maybe even passing by a few wrecks in the process. Jesus told us how to get to the Father. He told us which road to take, and there aren't even tolls!

Join the devotional this week as we learn more about the divinity of Jesus.

You can wander around with false confidence about your sense of direction, or you can listen to the

supreme GPS. You decide.

Jesus, you are our divine GPS. We want to follow you, and we know that you lead us exactly where we need to be. Please God give us the focus this week to stay the course, to stay steadfast in our pursuit of you. We love you, Amen.
