Love Like This - Rejoices in the Truth
Week Four, Day Four
March 28, 2019
Yesterday, we walked through a list of the things love does and does not do. Most importantly, we understand that love always rejoices in what is true.
1 Corinthians 13:6 says, "Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth."
When someone does the wrong thing, and they are rightfully convicted by that, is your gut instinct to gloat and gossip, or to pray for the long-term impact this will have on their soul? When someone you love is lost in sin, are you trying to avoid the situation altogether? Maybe if you don't see it, it's not really happening.
Things to think about:
1. In order to understand and show God's love, you must align with Him on what is right and wrong.
2. Don't cover up someone's sin. The only thing that can set them free is truth.
3. If your heart is rejoicing when someone's sin is uncovered, is it for the right reasons?
When we understand truth, we are one step closer to understanding love. Will you continue to examine your heart this week? You decide.
Voice of truth, your guidance is so necessary in times like this. Help us to align with you on what is right and true. Break our hearts for what breaks yours. It's easy to fall for your love, but hard to keep your commands. We love you, and pray that we can love you and your people better. Amen.
