What's in a Name: The Good Shepherd

Week Six, Day Six

April, 13 2019

Read Psalm 23 out loud. Which part of it melts into you right now? Whether it's God's ability to lead you beside still waters, restore your soul, or remove your fear, this Psalm shows us our active and caring Father. The way He leads us is so good.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

We are approaching the final week of Lent, which is Holy Week. We have learned so much during this time, especially that His ways and His love are perfect. Let's go into Holy Week with abundant confidence in who He is. Are you ready to enter into Holy Week filled up with His spirit? You decide.

Pray this out loud with me.

Jesus, You have been walking with us through our Lent season the entire time, and just like Psalm 23 rings out, you are perfect in all of your ways. With You, we lack nothing. With You, our souls are refreshed on the hardest of days. With You, we may walk through trials but they will not defeat us. You are there to comfort us and to be our champion. You fights for us. You fill us up with living water and brings us out of death. And all of this... all of this... is eternal. Wow. We praise You. We thank you for being good to us.
